The presence of the Fraternity in Spain began in 1996 when Bishop Francisco Pérez y Fernández Golfín entrusted to our missionaries the responsibility of the parish San Juan Bautista in Fuenlabrada, a neighborhood with huge and little infrastructure. The first mission of priests, responsible for a parish with more than 40,000 people and the chapel of the university faculty of Pedagogy of Madrid, is the communication of the basics of the faith. At the initiative of some parishioners, it founded an association dedicated to St. Riccardo Pampuri to promote various social projects and charity. Among the initiatives, the Talleres Encuentro, a cultural and artistic program directed especially to the single women of the neighborhood; Scholé, helping children with their studies; Casa de San Antonio, a network of homes for welcoming people with extreme needs; collaboration with Encuentro Madrid, the cultural event organized by the Movement of CL. Over the years, the Fraternity took on new responsibilities: a parish in Alcorcón, the chaplaincy of the Faculty of Architecture of Madrid, the spiritual care in a hospital in Móstoles, and teaching in several public schools and in the Colegio Internacional Kolbe of Villanueva de la Cañada.
