From the 27th of April to May 5th was help the XIV General Assembly. The members of the Assembly, which takes place every six years, gathered in Varigotti, in Liguria.
The first days were dedicated to prayer and recollection. Talks from Msgr. Massimo Camisasca, founder of the Fraternity of St. Charles, and Fr. Mauro Giuseppe Lepori, Abbot General of the Cistercian Order, accompanied the meditation of those present.
Under the patronage of St. Joseph, the specific work of the Assembly began, which was geared towards the discussion of the most important topics regarding the life of the Fraternity.
On Sunday, May 4th, there were the elections of the Superior General and of his counsel: Fr. Paolo Sottopietra, former Superior General, was confirmed in the position for another 6 years; Fr. Donato Contuzzi was elected vicar general. Then Fr Mario Follega, Fr. Ruben Roncolato and Fr. Stefano Tenti were elected as councilors.
Finally, the Superior General, in agreement with his new council, appointed for a term of six years: Fr. Giacomo Landoni, General Secretary; Fr. Ruben Roncolato, Rector of the House of Formation; and Fr. Stefano Tenti, Treasurer.
